Sample Slayer and Demon loadouts based on launch-week community consensus.

Best Builds

This page turns the Project Slayers 2 tier lists into usable builds. Every recommendation below is launch-week community consensus (mid-September 2026)—strong enough to guide your first heavy investments, soft enough that a balance patch can rewrite the details. Use it with the Players hub, Breathing Styles, Blood Demon Arts, and Clans.

Before you craft anything expensive, claim Codes and finish the basics in Getting Started. Materials like Wen, Demon Horns, and Beast Cores are the real gate for Breathing Style unlocks around level 25; spending them twice hurts more than picking a “wrong” A-tier kit.

Build framework (use this every time)

  1. Faction — Slayer (Breathing Style) or Demon (BDA).
  2. Clan — keep whatever amplifies that kit; see rarity notes on Clans.
  3. Combat identity — one S/A style or art you will actually lab.
  4. Weapon — whatever the kit requires or synergizes with (Sickle talk for Blood, Scythe/Umbrella chatter for Demons, style weapons for Slayers).
  5. Mode focus — PvE farm, duel climb, or hybrid. Be honest; Flame farmers and Thunder duelists optimize differently.

Slayer sample builds

Build A — Thunder Duelist (safe S spike)

  • Style: Thunder Breathing (S consensus for PvP, excellent overall)
  • Ideal clans: Agatsuma (Mythic Thunder fantasy), Kamado (flexible Supreme), any mobility-leaning keep
  • Why it works: Fast gap closers and hard-to-react tools define early duel servers. Thunder also clears PvE without feeling like a pure arena toy.
  • Investment order: hit the ~Lv25 unlock gate → unlock Thunder → lab dash confirms in PvE → enter duels.
  • Avoid: swapping to Wind mid-climb just because a video called Wind flashy; settle Thunder first.

Build B — Flame / Rengoku Farmer

  • Style: Flame Breathing (S on this wiki’s consensus board for launch-week value)
  • Ideal clan: Rengoku (Supreme Flame partner)
  • Why it works: AoE, burns, and clan damage bonuses melt packs and bosses. Some PvP creators rank Flame lower because of start-up; ignore that noise if your goal is efficient PvE.
  • Investment order: secure Rengoku or any Flame-friendly clan → unlock Flame → prioritize AoE mastery nodes → only then dabble in duel-specific tech.
  • Flex: if you lack Rengoku, keep Flame only while your clan still helps offense; otherwise consider Sound for farm.

Build C — Water Starter into Serpent Flex

  • Style path: Water Breathing (A beginner) → optional later swap/lab into Serpent (A mobility/combo)
  • Ideal clans: Tomioka, Urokodaki, Sabito for Water; Iguro-style Mythics if you commit to Serpent
  • Why it works: Water teaches timing without Thunder’s full speed tax. Serpent later adds teleport-flavored mobility and barrage damage when you are ready.
  • Investment order: unlock Water with matched clan → clear early mastery → evaluate whether you still enjoy Water before spending a second core budget on Serpent.

Build D — Insect Pressure / Stone Armor (niche)

  • Insect (A): fast chains and poison-flavored pressure; Kocho-style clans feel on-theme.
  • Stone (B): hyper armor brawler for players who want uninterruptible aggression in duels.
  • Pick these when the fantasy matters. They are valid, not mandatory, for first accounts.

Demon sample builds

Build E — Blood Manipulation PvE Ace

  • BDA: Blood Manipulation (S, frequent best PvE art)
  • Weapon note: community guides often discuss a Sickle-style requirement—confirm in client before crafting.
  • Ideal clans: Kamado for flexibility; Shabana-style Legendary utility if you group often; other offense Supremes/Mythics
  • Why it works: Barrages create enormous boss windows and let allies M1 freely. If your friends run dungeons nightly, Blood is the easiest “yes.”
  • Investment order: meet weapon constraint → unlock Blood → practice barrage timing on elite packs → bring the kit to group content.

Build F — Ice Hybrid / Duel Threat

  • BDA: Ice Manipulation (S)
  • Why it works: Grabs, counters, and dungeon AoE make Ice the hybrid star. Many creators list Ice among the best PvP Demon arts without sacrificing clear speed.
  • Ideal clans: Douma-flavored Mythics for Demon defense fantasy; Kamado; anything that reinforces control or survivability.
  • Investment order: unlock Ice → lab grab confirms → use ice rain / AoE tools for dungeon value → climb duels.

Build G — Shockwave Counter Fighter

  • BDA: Shockwave (A hybrid)
  • Ideal clan: Soyama (Supreme counter pairing in community talk)
  • Why it works: Melee pressure, ranged openers, chase, and counters cover awkward ranges. Excellent when you want A-tier flexibility without fighting for Blood/Ice uniqueness in every lobby aesthetic.

Build H — Dream or Reaper Duel Specialist

  • Dream (A): stuns and grabs for nasty combo starters.
  • Reaper (A): speed and dense combo routes; strong group-boss windows, slightly weaker pure solo farm than Blood.
  • Main these when your joy is duel servers. Keep Blood or Ice as an alt farm character if progression stalls.

Build I — Knowingly niche (Explosive / Arrow / Obi / Temari)

  • Explosive (B): high-roll burst if tornado hits land.
  • Arrow (B): PvE projectile comfort, poor duel default.
  • Obi (B): duel mixups after practice; weak broad farm.
  • Temari (C): play for fun, not for efficiency leaderboards.

Universal progression checklist

  1. Claim active Codes.
  2. Decide faction and write your target build letter (A–H).
  3. Compare your clan on Clans; keep synergy, spin only with surplus.
  4. Farm to the style/art unlock (~Lv25 + Wen + Demon Horns + Beast Cores for Breathing).
  5. Unlock one combat identity.
  6. Practice in PvE, then stress-test in duels.
  7. Re-read Tier List hub after patches before deleting anything.

Common build failures

  • Supreme hunting before unlock day. You delay power for a screenshot.
  • Double-spending Beast Cores on fashion styles.
  • Forcing Temari or unbuffed Wind as a first main while complaining about clear times.
  • Copying Part 1 Snow Breathing routes into Slayers 2. Legacy Update 1.5 content is historical only.
  • Ignoring weapon constraints on Blood Manipulation.

Pick one Slayer plan or one Demon plan, fund it completely, and only then experiment. Launch-week Project Slayers rewards commitment more than collection.

FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions

Quick answers to the most common questions.

What is the best beginner build in Slayers 2?

For Slayers, Water into a later Thunder or Serpent flex is friendly, while Thunder is the safest raw power spike. For Demons, Ice or Shockwave teach tools well; Blood is best if you already have group PvE partners.

What should I build for PvP?

Thunder Slayer and Ice, Dream, Reaper, or Shockwave Demon kits dominate early duel talk. Flame can wait unless you also need farm speed.

What should I build for PvE?

Blood Manipulation is the Demon PvE ace. On Slayer side, Thunder, Sound, Flame, and Serpent appear most in farm discussions—Flame especially with Rengoku.

Do I need Supreme Kamado for a good build?

No. Kamado is excellent, but a Mythic or Legendary that matches your style often performs better than an unused Supreme. Build synergy first.

When should I respec or reroll a build?

After a major balance patch, when your clan finally matches a different kit, or when your goals flip from farming to duel climbing. Avoid rerolling every viral video.
