Project Slayers Slayers 2 Breathing Trainers Guide
Level 25 gates, material costs, Wall Climb routes, and where every style trainer stands.
Breathing Styles in Project Slayers 2 do not unlock from a menu toggle. You hit roughly level 25, unlock Wall Climb from the Skill Tree, farm Demon Horns and Beast Cores, find the correct trainer, clear their training chain, then spend more skill points to buy individual forms. This page is the map for that gate. Pair it with Getting Started, Ores and Wen, Become a Slayer, Map and Horses, and the Breathing Styles tier list.
Universal requirements
Every live Breathing trainer currently expects:
- ~Level 25 (confirm the NPC prompt—early access numbers can shift).
- Materials and/or Wen that differ by style. Community guides commonly cite about 10–30 Demon Horns and often ~5 Beast Cores, with Water as a high-horn Wen combo and Wind as a heavier horn sink.
- Wall Climb for cliff, roof, and Iceveil approaches. Double Jump helps, but Wall Climb is the hard gate.
- A short training questline ending in drills and a trainee fight before the style actually sticks.
Standing next to a trainer with empty pockets does nothing. Bank materials while you still grind bears so unlock day is a hand-in, not a second farm week.
Where materials drop
- Demon Horns — farm High Demons, especially night routes and waterfall / cave pockets called out in launch-week guides. Night density is usually better than random day wandering.
- Beast Cores — farm beast-born demons in their village / pack zones. Cores gate several of the most popular early styles.
- Wen — quests, sells, and Codes. Water’s trainer fee is the classic cash surprise; arrive funded.
Full wallet planning lives on Ores and Wen. Do not spend Refinement Ore or panic race resets while you are still short of horns.
Trainer locations (launch-week map)
Exact dialogue and fees can patch. Use this as a route key, then read the NPC:
| Style | Trainer | Where to look | Typical extra cost (community) |
|---|---|---|---|
| Serpent | Obari | Cliff / crevice above the starting village | ~20 Demon Horns, ~5 Beast Cores |
| Thunder | Zentaro | Mountain summit near the bear village | Wall Climb required; some patches also flag axe/mace |
| Flame | Rengu | Roof / house by the red bridge from Mistfall | ~10 Demon Horns |
| Water | Urokodaki | Underwater passage near Bamboo Grove island house | ~5,000 Wen, ~30 Demon Horns |
| Stone | Gyorei | Temple courtyard on the lower path from bears | Axe and Mace unlocked first |
| Insect | Shinora | Roof of Butterfly Estate main building | Wall Climb for roof access |
| Sound | Tengai | High cliffs of Iceveil Valley | Wall Climb required |
| Wind | Saneri | Snowy Iceveil water platform | Heavy Demon Horn sink (~50 in some reports); ice access may need a frozen lantern or high-level content |
Thunder, Sound, Insect, Serpent, and several Mistfall roofs punish accounts that skipped mobility nodes. Fix that on the Skill Tree page before a fruitless hike. A horse from Map and Horses shortens the cross-map trainer tour after Wall Climb is online.
Patch caveats: community notes sometimes attach axe/mace checks to Thunder as well as Stone—read the live NPC. Wind’s ice shelf can stay unreachable until a frozen lantern or high-level boss drop opens Iceveil, even if you already banked horns.
Training loop after you pay
- Talk to the trainer and accept the material / Wen hand-in.
- Complete the listed drills (timing bars, strength tasks, aim, parkour, or trainee duels—menus differ by style).
- Defeat the closing trainee boss when prompted.
- Open M → Skill Tree and buy the first forms for that Breathing branch. The style starts thin; points plus mastery fill Z/X/C/V/B kits.
If forms stay locked, you are missing mastery, points, or both—not a broken unlock. Keep grinding the same identity instead of hopping trainers.
Choosing a first trainer
- Want the smoothest learning curve? Water remains the community beginner pick despite the Wen + horn bill.
- Want a safe power spike? Check Breathing Styles for launch-week Thunder / Sound / Flame talk, then confirm your clan synergy on Clans.
- Want mobility fantasy? Serpent is popular once Obari’s cliff is climbable and cores are banked.
- Cosplay first? Fine—just budget a later reset from Ores and Wen if the fantasy sits in a weak tier for your goals.
Convert the choice into a real loadout on Best Builds after the style sticks.
Common failures
- Hiking Iceveil or Mistfall roofs without Wall Climb
- Arriving at level 25 with zero horns because you sold every demon drop
- Paying Water’s Wen fee, then realizing you still need thirty horns
- Unlocking the style and never buying forms in the skill tree
- Starting Final Selection the same hour you unlock Breathing—Selection wants ~level 45 comfort

Trainers are a logistics puzzle first and a combat fantasy second. Bank horns and cores on the way up, unlock mobility early, hand in once, then fund the forms that make the style real.
Frequently Asked Questions
Quick answers to the most common questions.
When can I unlock a Breathing Style in Slayers 2?
Most trainers open around level 25 after you bring the listed Demon Horns, Beast Cores, and/or Wen, then clear their training chain.
How many Demon Horns and Beast Cores do trainers need?
Costs vary by style. Community guides often cite about 10–30 Demon Horns and around 5 Beast Cores, with Water and Wind among the heavier bills.
Why can I not reach my trainer?
Many sit on cliffs, roofs, or Iceveil shelves. Unlock Wall Climb (and ideally Double Jump) in the skill tree before the hike.
Where do Demon Horns and Beast Cores drop?
Horns come from High Demons—night waterfall and cave routes are strong. Cores come from beast-born demons in their pack zones.
I unlocked a style but have almost no moves. Why?
Open the skill tree and buy Breathing forms with points while raising mastery. Unlock day only starts the kit; it does not finish it.
